In March this year, my good friend and colleague, Ellie Lindsay OBE, received a lifetime achievement award from the World Union of Wound Healing Societies (WUWHS)
at their conference in Abu Dhabi. This recognition marks Ellie’s tireless dedication to the Leg Club model she created, which has become a genuine force in community care.

In each issue of the Journal of Community Nursing, we investigate a topic affecting our readers. Here, Teresa Burdett, principal academic in mental health nursing, Bournemouth University, and Anneyce Knight (recently passed away), senior lecturer in adult nursing, Bournemouth University, look at making every contact count to promote health in the community. 

Marcella Kelly discusses a phenomenological study which looks at the experience of being an Irish preceptor public health nurse.
